New Patient Registration

Currently our patient list is closed to patients already registered with a GP in Arbroath or Friockheim.  We will continue to register patients from outwith the area who have recently moved into the Arbroath area. This is managed by a rolling rota with the practices in the town.  You can call to be advised who is currently registering new patients.

Patient registration forms are available online. 

All new patients are also asked to complete a medical questionnaire giving us some information about your past medical history. This is because it can take sometimes take a considerable time for us to receive your medical records. If you take regular medicines you may also be asked to make a registration appointment to meet the GP although any patient new to the practice can request an appointment with the doctor.

Your registration will be with the practice rather than a specific doctor however you may request to see any doctor within the practice.

Address and Telephone Number Changes

It is essential that any address and telephone number changes be notified to us as soon as possible. If you move outside the practice area it will be necessary for you to register with a doctor in your new area.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice where your family member is registered. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
